Role Purpose

To safely and reliably transport company staff by heavy bus, and to move materials and equipment as needed, in compliance with traffic law and company safety rules. When not driving, the role supports warehouse inbound and outbound operations, including loading, unloading, picking and dispatch support, so that the company's staff and goods reach their destination on time, undamaged and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Passenger and Material Transport

• Drive the company heavy bus on assigned routes and schedules to transport staff to and from work sites, accommodation, offices and other locations.
• Transport materials, tools and equipment in the bus or other assigned vehicles, where permitted and with the load properly secured and within the vehicle's capacity.
• Follow the approved route plan, pick-up and drop-off points and timetables; report delays or changes to the Transport Supervisor.
• Ensure passengers board and alight safely, remain seated with seatbelts fastened (where fitted), and follow bus rules.
• Maintain a courteous, professional and respectful attitude with passengers, visitors and colleagues always.
• Never drive while fatigued, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs driving. Report any condition that affects fitness to drive.
  
  

Vehicle Care and Compliance

• Carry out and record a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection (tyres, brakes, lights, mirrors, horn, wipers, fluids, doors, emergency exits, seatbelts, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, air conditioning, warning triangle).
• Report defects, accidents, damage and breakdowns immediately and do not operate a vehicle that is unsafe.
• Keep the vehicle clean inside and out, including seats, floor, windows and cargo area.
• Ensure the vehicle's registration, insurance, inspection (fitness test) and permits are valid and carried in the vehicle; alert the supervisor before expiry.
• Complete the vehicle logbook, trip records, mileage and fuel records accurately and submit on time.
• Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and take the vehicle to workshops or for servicing as instructed.
• Safeguard keys, fuel cards, toll or parking tags and vehicle documents.
  
  

Warehouse Inbound Support

• Assist with receiving goods: unloading vehicles and containers by hand or with equipment you are authorised and trained to use and moving items to the receiving area.
• Help check deliveries against delivery notes or purchase orders (count, description, visible damage) and report discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Help put away goods in the correct location, following labelling, stacking, segregation and storage rules.
• Help label, tag and organise stock as directed.
  
  

Warehouse Outbound Support

• Assist with picking, packing and staging orders according to pick lists and dispatch instructions.
• Load and secure goods on vehicles safely, with correct weight distribution and load restraint, and confirm quantities against dispatch documents.
• Deliver materials to internal sites or customers as instructed, obtain signatures on delivery notes and return documents promptly.
• Report any shortage, damage or mix-up before the vehicle leaves.
  
  

Housekeeping, Health and Safety

• Keep the work area, loading bay and vehicle parking area clean, tidy and free from hazards.
• Follow all company HSE rules, safe work procedures, manual handling practice and site traffic rules.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety shoes, high-visibility vest and gloves.
• Report incidents, near-misses, injuries, unsafe conditions and property damage immediately.
• Know the location and use of fire extinguishers, first aid equipment, assembly points and emergency procedures, and take part in drills and training.
  
  

Administration and Reporting

• Maintain accurate trip sheets, delivery records, checklists and daily activity reports.
• Hand over cash, receipts, documents and any lost property found on the vehicle.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Warehouse Manager within the scope of the role.
  
  

Requirements

• Valid UAE heavy bus driving licence (or a licence that is eligible for conversion in line with UAE traffic authority requirements), with a clean driving record and no serious traffic violations.
• Minimum [3 to 5] years of experience driving heavy buses or heavy vehicles, preferably in the UAE or GCC, including staff transport.
• Good knowledge of local roads, routes and traffic regulations in [Sharjah and the UAE].
• Medically fit to drive a heavy vehicle and to carry out manual handling; able to pass the required medical, eyesight and, where applicable, drug and alcohol tests.
• Basic spoken English and/or Arabic or Hindi/Urdu, sufficient to follow instructions, read delivery notes and communicate with passengers.
• Ability to read and complete simple forms and checklists.
