Job Purpose
To perform a variety of duties in the Laboratory to assist the Senior Chemist, Chemist and Technician including washing of glassware apparatus, cleaning the lab instruments and equipment, collecting and labeling samples, performing simple tests and other duties as required.

To perform a variety of duties in the Laboratory to assist the Senior Chemist, Chemist and Technician including washing of glassware apparatus, cleaning the lab instruments and equipment, collecting and labeling samples, performing simple tests and other duties as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Cleans the Lab instruments and equipment and keeps the working area neat and in good condition.
- Washes the glassware apparatus with solvents, acids, detergent, water, as applicable and prepares them for use by arranging them in their proper place. Ensures the glassware does not break and follow the standard requirements for cleaning.
- Looks after the chemicals and samples store, keeps them in order and prepares the related documents on the computer system.
- Changes the oils and water of the heating bath when required. Fix and replaces empty gas cylinder of argon, nitrogen, oxygen, helium, nitrous oxide, etc as needed.
- Takes samples from drums, tanks, tankers, and labels them with the appropriate details like: product, date, time, storage tank number, and bring the samples to the Lab for testing and analysis.
- Brings chemicals and raw materials from storage facilities to the Lab as requested. Assists the Chemist / Lab Technician in issuing of Lab Store items to the Lab staff and assists in maintaining inventory.
- Prepares oil samples for analysis by heating or mixing it with solvent.
- Stays over night to watch and monitor the tests and helps to report results, when requested.
- Assists to prepare tests (like flash points, density, distillation, pour point, cone penetrations, total base number, manual viscosity) and helps in reporting results.
- Carry out some tests and tasks that require physical efforts under the supervision of the Chemist / Lab Technician.
- Help Lab staff in filing the generated test records and keeps it in its proper place.
- Arrange the received samples for testing and store the different type of samples after testing in Lab store at the proper dedicated place for each type in order and with clear and complete identification. Bring the samples for re-testing when needed.
- Dispose-off all stored samples after retention period is over by following the proper procedures and instruction in a safe manner. Arrange the empty clean sample container to the concern department for reuse.
- Arrange the received chemicals, glassware, consumables in its proper place in the Glassware and Chemical Store.
- Assist Lab Technician and Sr. Lab Chemist to prepare Lab blends as and when it is required.
- Follows the ADNOC HSE regulations.
- Performs other similar and related duties as requested by the Supervisor.
- High School or Technical course graduate
- At least 2 years in a laboratory facilities
- Good knowledge of HSE
