Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will work alongside the Resident Engineer to oversee construction activities, ensure compliance with project specifications, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety on site. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop technical expertise while contributing to significant infrastructure projects in a dynamic construction environment.

  • Daily site supervision and monitoring of construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications
  • Conduct regular site inspections and document findings, including quality checks and compliance verification
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, progress logs, and photographic records
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve site-related issues
  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies
  • Monitor and enforce site safety protocols and ensure all personnel comply with health and safety regulations
  • Assist in project scheduling, progress tracking, and identification of potential delays or risks
  • Maintain organized records of site activities, material deliveries, and equipment usage
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding site progress and any emerging concerns
  • Support quality assurance processes and assist in resolving construction defects or non-conformances

Qualifications

**Required Skills:**

  • Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Competency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

**Required Experience:**

  • Minimum 12 years experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on construction sites or project sites as ARE or RE. 
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies and standard practices
  • Experience with site documentation and reporting

**Required Education:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and related software
  • Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, codes, and standards
  • Experience with construction management software or project management tools
  • Professional certification or membership in relevant engineering bodies
  • Experience in infrastructure or commercial construction projects
