Barista

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Barista to join our. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso extraction, and coffee-machine calibration, with a genuine passion for delivering consistently high-quality beverages and excellent guest experiences. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages across our catering operations, including events and off-site functions. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, maintaining high service standards, and adapting to different event locations and service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a range of high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white and other specialty coffees.
• Operate and maintain professional espresso machines, grinders and other coffee equipment.
• Calibrate coffee grinders and espresso machines to achieve consistent extraction, flavour and beverage quality.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of coffee beans, brewing techniques and milk preparation.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation and portion standards throughout service.
• Set up and dismantle coffee stations at catering venues and events.
• Ensure all coffee equipment, utensils, counters and service areas are clean, organised and ready for service.
• Prepare the required mise en place before events and ensure adequate stock of coffee, milk, syrups, cups and other consumables.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to the supervisor or catering team.
• Provide professional, friendly and attentive service to guests and clients.
• Work efficiently during high-volume events while maintaining beverage quality and service standards.
• Follow approved recipes, beverage specifications and brand standards.
• Handle food and beverages in accordance with applicable food-safety, hygiene and health requirements.
• Follow proper cleaning, sanitising and safe operating procedures for coffee equipment.
• Identify basic equipment issues and report maintenance requirements promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the catering, kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth event operations.
• Support other catering duties when required, particularly during event setup, service and breakdown.
• Represent the brand professionally at all times when working at client and event locations.
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Barista, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, café, specialty coffee shop or catering environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of espresso-based coffee preparation.
• Demonstrated ability to calibrate commercial coffee machines and grinders.
• Knowledge of different coffee beans, roast profiles and basic brewing methods is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of hygiene and food-safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy services and large-scale events.
• Good personal presentation and professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Barista / Specialty Coffee certification or relevant professional training are an advantage.
