Job Description

The Barista ensures that the coffee station and outlet are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, efficiency, and hygiene while consistently exceeding guest expectations.

• Welcome guests warmly and provide professional, personalized service at all times.
• Take beverage orders accurately and ensure timely preparation and delivery.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge of coffee, tea, beverages, and menu offerings.
• Recommend beverages based on guests' preferences and provide appropriate product information.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests and special requirements.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, escalating concerns to the supervisor or manager when required.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude throughout the guest experience.
• Prepare espresso, cappuccino, latte, Americano, mocha, and other specialty coffee beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including teas, juices, smoothies, and specialty drinks as required.
• Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure correct coffee grinding, extraction, milk steaming, temperature, presentation, and portion control.
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, taste, temperature, and presentation.
• Prepare beverages according to individual guest preferences whenever possible.
• Set up and maintain the coffee station before, during, and after service.
• Ensure all equipment, utensils, glassware, crockery, and service items are clean and properly maintained.
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, tea, and other beverage ingredients.
• Report shortages, wastage, equipment issues, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Follow proper stock rotation and FIFO procedures.
• Minimize wastage and maintain effective portion control.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as required.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene, cleanliness, and grooming.
• Follow hotel food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Ensure workstations, equipment, and service areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
• Store food and beverage products correctly and within required temperature guidelines.
• Report any food safety, hygiene, or equipment concerns immediately.
• Consistently follow the hotel's service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with grooming standards.
• Demonstrate attention to detail in beverage preparation and presentation.
• Create memorable guest experiences through genuine hospitality and personalized service.
• Maintain awareness of VIP guests, special occasions, preferences, and special requests when communicated by the team.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista in a luxury hotel, 5-star hotel, premium café, restaurant, or high-end hospitality environment is preferred.
• Professional barista training or certification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee beans, brewing methods, and beverage presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
