  • Perform touch-up painting and corrective works in guest rooms, corridors, public areas, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house areas.
  • Polish, restore, and maintain wooden furniture, doors, decorative panels, fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Repair minor surface damage, scratches, chips, cracks, and other imperfections before applying finishes.

  • Maintain walls, ceilings, doors, frames, furniture, and decorative elements to the hotel's required standards.
  • Attend maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders efficiently and within the required timeframe.
  • Conduct regular inspections and identify areas requiring painting, polishing, or refurbishment.
  • Support preventive maintenance and hotel refurbishment projects as assigned by Engineering Management.
  • Protect furniture, flooring, guest belongings, and surrounding areas before commencing work.
  • Ensure work areas are properly isolated and appropriate signage is displayed when carrying out maintenance in operational areas.
  • Minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations when carrying out work in guest-facing areas.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of paints, thinners, chemicals, and other materials in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition and stored safely after use.
  • Monitor stock levels of paint, polishing materials, consumables, and tools and report replenishment requirements to the supervisor.
  • Minimize material wastage through proper planning, preparation, and usage.
  • Follow all hotel health, safety, fire, environmental, and Engineering procedures.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling paints, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other Engineering colleagues and departments across both properties.
  • Be flexible to work at either hotel based on operational and maintenance requirements.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Cluster Chief Engineer or Engineering Management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical or vocational training in painting, decorating, carpentry finishing, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Painter/Polisher, preferably within a hotel, resort, commercial property, or facilities management environment.
  • Previous experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of different types of paints, varnishes, stains, primers, polishing materials, and surface-finishing techniques.
  • Strong skills in surface preparation, colour matching, painting, polishing, and finishing.
  • Experience working with wood finishes, furniture polishing, doors, wall finishes, and decorative surfaces.
  • Ability to use brushes, rollers, spray equipment, sanding machines, and other painting and polishing tools safely.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural Engineering team.
  • Basic communication skills in English.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual duties and work at heights when required.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and across both hotel properties according to operational requirements.
