Commis I - Oriental Kitchen

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Kitchen professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver exceptional levels of service and provide creative culinary experiences to our guests.

As a Commis I, you will be responsible for daily food preparation and assigned kitchen duties, ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with established standards of quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Prepare dishes according to the menu specifications and instructions provided by the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work area at all times, adhering to the hotel's food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and control food stock, wastage, and food costs within the assigned section.
• Prepare daily mise en place and assist with food production across different sections of the main kitchen and satellite kitchens.
• Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate supervisors to ensure the timely completion of daily tasks.
• Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation while staying updated on new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations, cleanliness, efficient resource utilization, and effective cost control.

Requirements

Education, Qualifications & Experience

• Professional kitchen apprenticeship or formal culinary training.
• Previous experience in reputable hotels, restaurants, or other quality culinary establishments.
• Strong culinary skills with proven knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation techniques.
• Good English communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations.
