We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai, UAE.

The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in general surgical procedures, laparoscopic surgery, emergency surgery, and comprehensive surgical patient management. The role requires excellent surgical skills, strong clinical judgment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
• Conduct laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair.
• Manage gastrointestinal, abdominal, hepatobiliary, and soft tissue surgical conditions within authorized clinical privileges.
• Evaluate patients through comprehensive preoperative assessments and diagnostic investigations.
• Develop individualized surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based guidelines.
• Provide postoperative care, monitor recovery, and manage surgical complications.
• Respond to acute surgical emergencies, including abdominal emergencies, bowel obstruction, and gastrointestinal perforation.
• Interpret ultrasound, CT scans, MRI findings, and other relevant surgical investigations.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary surgical teams.
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, surgical safety protocols, infection control, and patient care standards.

Requirements

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification or residency training in General Surgery.
• Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification in General Surgery.
• American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred.
• Strong expertise in laparoscopic surgery, emergency surgical procedures, and complex general surgical management.
• Excellent surgical skills, clinical judgment, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Eligible for DHA Consultant General Surgery classification/license in Dubai, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
