Job Description – Data Analyst (Advanced Excel Expertise)

Job Summary

BigTapp is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with strong Advanced Excel expertise to analyze corporate tax data and associated personal information. The role will focus on assessing data availability, quality, consistency, validity, and timeliness across multiple systems and sources. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing individual data fields, establishing Data Quality (DQ) scores, identifying data gaps, assessing overall data usability, and supporting the design of a scalable data collection and maintenance process that minimizes customer effort and maximizes response rates.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in Advanced Excel for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Experience analyzing large and complex datasets with strong attention to data accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong understanding of Data Quality (DQ) assessment, data profiling, validation, and data reconciliation.
  • Experience assessing data availability, consistency, validity, and timeliness across multiple data sources.
  • Ability to identify data gaps, assess data usability, and recommend improvements to data collection processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and define business rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze corporate tax data and associated personal information to determine data availability, quality, and usability.
  • Review individual data fields and assess completeness, accuracy, consistency, validity, and timeliness.
  • Establish appropriate Data Quality scores and identify data gaps across systems and data sources.
  • Validate data against defined business rules, standards, and expected formats.
  • Perform data profiling and reconciliation to identify inconsistencies and quality issues.
  • Assess the overall usability of available data for business and regulatory requirements.
  • Document data quality findings, gaps, dependencies, and improvement areas.
  • Support the definition of scalable processes for collecting, validating, and maintaining required data.
  • Recommend data collection approaches that minimize customer effort and improve response rates.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and data teams to resolve data quality issues and improve data availability.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Data Analytics, Data Quality, Business Analytics, or Advanced Excel are an added advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas, lookups, conditional logic, data validation, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong experience performing data profiling, data validation, reconciliation, and quality assessment using Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Ability to create structured Data Quality scoring frameworks to measure completeness, accuracy, consistency, validity, and timeliness.
  • Experience working with large datasets and identifying missing, duplicate, inconsistent, or invalid records.
  • Strong understanding of data quality rules, business rules, data standards, and data usability assessment.
  • Experience consolidating and comparing data from multiple systems, files, and source datasets.
  • Good understanding of data structures, field-level analysis, and source-to-target data validation.
  • Experience preparing analytical reports, data quality summaries, dashboards, and management reports using Excel.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data analysis tools is an added advantage.

  • Exposure to personal/customer data and data privacy requirements.
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, or other data analytics tools.
  • Experience designing data collection and customer response processes.
  • Knowledge of data governance and enterprise data quality frameworks.

Work Experience

  • 3–10 years of relevant experience in Data Analysis, Data Quality, Data Validation, Business Analytics, or related areas.
  • Strong practical experience using Advanced Excel for large-scale data analysis and quality assessment.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources and performing field-level data quality assessments.
  • Experience translating data quality findings into actionable business recommendations.
