DFWAC- Accountant

Job Description

• Assist in budget development & manage costs in alignment with DFWAC’s strategic plan
• Compile & analyze the foundation’s financial information to prepare monthly & annual financial reports
• Assist in developing & implementing departmental accounting policies, procedures & processes
• Manage the foundations’ bank accounts, ledgers, & reporting systems in accordance with appropriate Accounting Principles & regulatory requirements
• Develop & maintain financial databases for the foundation
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting deadlines
• Manage vendor invoices & process necessary payments
• Oversee accurate & appropriate analysis of expenses
• Research & resolve discrepancies of financial information documentation for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy & adherence to established procedures
• Responds to inquiries from a wide variety of sources such as vendors & auditors
• Assist auditors for the purpose of providing supporting documentation
• Review financial information in order to identify potential budget variances & compile statistical information
• Remain up to date on non-profit audit best practices & Emirati law regarding non-profit operations
• Communicate with other departments of the foundation to understand financial needs
• Informs other staff regarding procedural requirements for the purpose of facilitating financial compliance
• Summarize financial data for management & board members
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, finance or accounting
• Accounting Certifications such as CFA/CPA/CFM/CIMA etc.
• 1-2 years of progressive accounting & supervisory experience
