AI-driven tutoring, mastery-based progression, and a fundamental shift away from traditional classroom structures produce these outcomes. The performance is exceptional. Now we need a leader who can align execution across varied school models, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public voice of a movement rooted in rigorous learning science.

This is not a role for academic theory. It's a leadership responsibility. You'll own the practical academic strategy, establish clear standards, surface execution gaps, and coach high-performing teams to deliver tangible results. You'll translate our scientific principles into operational rigor and advocate for this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum design, motivational systems, and application development.
• Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-driven.
• Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into academic ecosystem evaluations that identify the highest-impact obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
• Ensuring strategic alignment through planning processes, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
• Serving as the external face of 2 Hour Learning at the highest levels, from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic change in global education thinking.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across schools, raising leadership standards, and serving as the public advocate for a movement built on rigorous science and proven results.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
• Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
• Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
• Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
• Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
