Early Childhood Teacher

Job Summary

Our school is seeking to appoint an Early Childhood Teacher; the incumbent will provide safe and developmentally appropriate programs that are aligned with the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Adapting daily routines to meet the interest and needs of the individual child and the group
• Develop activities that promote literacy and math concepts
• Ensuring that the facility and all the equipment are clean, well maintained and safe
• Maintain and schedule weekly and monthly activities
• Participate in ongoing staff and education development opportunities
• Participate in the ongoing and evaluation of the program’s goals and objectives
• Plan and implement activities that meet the physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs to the students
• Provide a safe classroom environment
• Ensuring that all children are supervised at all times
• Advise and cooperate with the Head of Department, Head of Academics and Vice Principal and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching, lesson planning and assessment
• Ensure high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject/s
• Maintain classroom management under one’s care and safeguard their health and safety at all times
• Register and monitor the attendance of students under one’s care
• Nurture a culture where teachers view themselves essentially as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners
• Make use of technology during the delivery of the lessons

Required Skills

• Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education
• 2- years experience as a teacher
