About Wio

Wio Bank is a leading one-of-a-kind financial platform that is revolutionizing the banking industry in the MENA region. Our platform is here to reboot personal and business banking in the digital age. Our personalised features and seamlessly integrated services are built around your needs, helping you spend, save, and plan for your future.

Role Overview

As head – SME Acquisition, you own the growth of Wio’s SME liability book. This is a target-carrying leadership role accountable for new-to-bank CASA acquisition and the funded AED balances behind it — we are hiring for proven deposit and balance growth, not customer counts.

You will build and lead the sales engine that delivers profitable liability growth at scale, own the digital acquisition funnel across Wio Business end-to-end, and develop the partnership ecosystem (Corporate Service Providers, free zones) that feeds it. Wio combines a fully digital platform with the rigour of a regulated bank, and this role is where classic banking discipline meets a digital-first model. Success is measured the way a banker measures it: funded balances, book profitability, and cost-efficient acquisition — not sign-up volume.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Liability Book Growth (Primary Mandate)

  • Own and deliver Wio’s SME liability targets — funded-account growth, total CASA balance build-up, and book profitability
  • Drive acquisition of high-quality, funding SME relationships; explicitly avoid empty-account volume that does not translate into balances or revenue
  • Build the sales team and capacity needed to sustain higher-volume liability onboarding — structuring headcount, segmentation, and territory coverage across Dubai and Abu Dhabi to match growth ambitions
  • Set, calibrate, and cascade balance and funding targets across the team; coach for productivity and embed a high-performance, balance-led culture
  • Forecast pipeline and balance build-up, and adjust resourcing and incentives to hit book-growth and profitability goals

Digital Acquisition Funnel Management

  • Own the end-to-end digital acquisition funnel on Wio Business — from lead and app download through onboarding, KYC completion, and first funding
  • Identify and remove drop-off across the funnel (application, verification, activation), partnering with product, operations, and compliance to lift conversion
  • Use data and cohort analysis to optimise cost-per-funded-account and improve activation-to-funding rates
  • Work with marketing and product to drive demand through digital campaigns, SEO, and platform-led growth

Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Build and manage acquisition partnerships that feed liability growth — Corporate Service Providers (CSPs), free zones, and SME ecosystem players
  • Design co-branded programmes, referral models, and channel economics that deliver funded accounts at sustainable cost

Performance & Reporting

  • Track acquisition, balance, and profitability metrics across all channels; report book growth, funnel health, and channel ROI to leadership
  • Refine strategy continuously based on data, market trends, and customer feedback

What Are We Looking For?

  • 15+ years in SME / business / commercial banking, with a demonstrable track record of growing a liability (CASA / deposit) book and its profitability — this is the core requirement
  • Carried and delivered balance and funding targets, not just account-opening or customer-count targets
  • Proven experience building, scaling, and managing direct sales teams in a banking environment
  • Deep understanding of the UAE SME ecosystem — CSPs, free zones, and the CBUAE regulatory landscape
  • Strong commercial and analytical judgement — able to distinguish profitable relationships from low-value volume
  • Comfortable operating across both a field / direct sales force and a digital acquisition funnel

Preferred Attributes

  • Exposure to digital banking, fintech, or neobank acquisition models — or a clear appetite to operate in a digital-first environment (the digital toolkit can be learned; a balance-growth track record cannot).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales automation platforms.
  • Working knowledge of AML / CTF and KYC requirements relevant to SME onboarding.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong ownership bias and a commercial first orientation

Why Join Wio

  • Lead liability growth for one of the region’s leading digital banking platforms — bringing classic banking discipline to a digital-first model
  • High exposure to strategy, innovation, and senior leadership
  • Fast-paced, tech-forward environment with room to build
