The Healthcare Aide provides direct support to patients receiving mental health services, assisting with daily care activities while ensuring safety, dignity, and emotional support. This role works closely with the clinical team to maintain a therapeutic, respectful, and patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, meals, and comfort, while maintaining dignity and respect.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ behavior, mood, or physical condition to the clinical team in a timely and accurate manner.
• Support the implementation of care plans under the guidance of nurses and mental health professionals.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment in accordance with infection control, safety, and mental health care standards.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, promoting a calm and supportive care environment.
• Adhere to confidentiality, ethical standards, and organizational policies while supporting patient rights and well-being.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school certificate or equivalent; formal Healthcare Aide / Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in healthcare or mental health support roles (mental health experience is an advantage).
• Basic knowledge of patient care, safety practices, and infection control.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach with strong communication skills.
