Job Purpose

As a valued Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer at UAE - Integrated Facility Management, based in Abu Dhabi, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust implementation and continuous improvement of safety and environmental management systems within the organization. Your contribution will safeguard the wellbeing of employees, contractors, and the environment while supporting our commitment to industry standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.

Roles, Responsibilities & Duties
  • Conduct detailed incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits to assess compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to proactively manage workplace hazards.
  • Implement and monitor HSE policies aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 frameworks.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to promote safety awareness and compliance across all organizational levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze environmental impact and propose sustainable practices.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding and accountability for HSE responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring timely communication of HSE performance metrics to management.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning to minimize risks and enhance resilience.
Qualification

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant bachelor's degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) standards is essential to excel in this role.

Strong understanding of incident investigation methodologies, risk management principles, and environmental impact assessment techniques is required. The position also demands exceptional organizational skills with the ability to plan, align, and execute HSE initiatives systematically, coupled with technology and data fluency to manage digital tools and reporting systems effectively.

Demonstrated experience in delivering HSE training, fostering safety culture, and ensuring regulatory compliance enhances candidate suitability. The ability to collaborate across diverse teams and engage with multiple stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner is crucial for sustained success.

Experience & Skills

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess substantial experience in health, safety, and environmental management within facility management or related industries, ideally within the UAE or comparable regulatory environments.

Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive incident and accident investigations, with a focus on root cause analysis and preventative measures.
  • Experience leading both internal and external HSE audits aligned with international standards.
  • Advanced risk assessment capabilities with the development of practical mitigation strategies.
  • Technical fluency in data analysis, reporting tools, and HSE management software to ensure accurate monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Action-oriented mindset combined with effective communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels and ensure accountability.
  • A collaborative approach essential for working within multidisciplinary teams and driving positive environmental and safety outcomes.
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering targeted health, safety, and environmental training in a clear and impactful manner.
