Job Purpose
The Lecturer of Medical Education will contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and educational innovation at the College of Medicine. The role includes active involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, facilitation, and scholarly activities in Health Professions Education, including programs such as the Master of Leadership in Health Professions Education and the PhD in Health Professions Education.
Main accountabilities & expectations
- Participate in teaching activities across the College of Medicine and the Medical Education Centre.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement through the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs.
- Deliver teaching to undergraduates and facilitate learning in postgraduate Health Professions Education programs.
- Promote excellence and innovation in education by adopting and advancing evidence-based teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies.
- Develop and implement faculty development initiatives aimed at strengthening teaching competencies and enhancing academic practice among faculty members.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Medical Education, Health Professions Education, or a closely related field.
- A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant academic or teaching experience.
- Experience in teaching, assessment, and educational innovation.
- Experience in research with publications in peer-reviewed journals in Health Professions Education.
- Experience in technology-enhanced learning and assessment methods.
- Experience in medical curriculum design and management is preferred.
