Purpose Of The Role
Nest Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across guest rooms and public areas. The role will assist in supervising the housekeeping team, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and procedures.

Nest Hotel is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across guest rooms and public areas. The role will assist in supervising the housekeeping team, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Supervise Room Attendants, Housekeeping Supervisors, and Public Area Attendants to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet hotel standards.
- Conduct regular guest room inspections to ensure linen is free from stains and that rooms consistently meet high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
- Carry out routine public area inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and overall quality, ensuring a positive guest experience and satisfaction.
- Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office to ensure timely room readiness, check-ins, and check-outs.
- Manage housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms, cleaning materials, and inventory to minimize wastage and control costs.
- Assist in preparing staff schedules, allocating duties, monitoring attendance, and ensuring adequate manpower coverage.
- Train, coach, and motivate housekeeping team members to maintain service standards and improve productivity.
- Handle guest complaints and housekeeping-related requests promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to report and follow up on maintenance issues.
- Support departmental budgeting, cost control, productivity monitoring, and housekeeping reports.
- Assist in implementing standard operating procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor online guest reviews and feedback, ensure that complaints are addressed promptly, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with other departments, particularly Front Office (FO) and Facilities Management (FM), to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Ensure effective and regular pest control measures are implemented to prevent infestations, including cockroaches and other pests.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing Nest Hotel and Nest Campus, with particular attention to the specific requirements related to student accommodation, especially female students.
- Promptly report all accidents, incidents, maintenance hazards, and health and safety concerns to the relevant departments for immediate action.
- Ensure proper waste handling, segregation, and disposal in accordance with hotel procedures and applicable environmental and hygiene standards.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor in a reputable hotel is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, room inspections, linen management, inventory control, and cleaning procedures.
- Experience using hotel property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping software is preferred.
