Summary
The Nutanix Resident Engineer will be responsible for optimizing and supporting the customer's Nutanix environment, ensuring best practices are followed. This role focuses on driving adoption of Nutanix products, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing guidance to enhance customer experience.

The Nutanix Resident Engineer will be responsible for optimizing and supporting the customer's Nutanix environment, ensuring best practices are followed. This role focuses on driving adoption of Nutanix products, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing guidance to enhance customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assess current usage of Nutanix products and drive adoption.
- Implement and administer core Nutanix products, including installations and upgrades.
- Migrate customers from traditional infrastructure to Nutanix.
- Proactively monitor system performance and resolve alerts.
- Conduct troubleshooting and address capacity planning and reporting.
- Manage VM lifecycle tasks.
- Collaborate with Nutanix support for technical issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery drills.
- Act as a trusted advisor on Nutanix best practices.
- Mentor junior team members on Nutanix administration.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical issue resolution.
- Leverage automation tools to optimize administrative tasks.
- Work with the sales team to identify new opportunities and report on customer status.
- Keep customers informed through regular updates and status reports.
- Conduct proofs of concept for Nutanix products.
- Train and enable customer resources on Nutanix solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in system administration and virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV and/or Hyper-V / VMware ESXi.
- Ability to independently analyze complex issues across diverse platforms.
- Excellent customer-centric communication skills.
- Experience in conducting group presentations and documentation.
- VMware certification (e.g., VCP or VCAP).
- Nutanix NCP certification.
- Experience with workload migrations (P2V and V2V).
- Familiarity with storage and data protection technologies.
- Basic understanding of automation and scripting, preferably with Python or PowerShell.
