We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planning Engineer with a minimum of 8 -10 years of relevant experience in construction project planning and scheduling. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules using Primavera P6 to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, coordination skills, and a thorough understanding of construction workflows and scheduling methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), look-ahead schedules, and periodic progress updates.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to obtain accurate planning inputs.
  • Identify critical path activities, potential risks, and delays; recommend mitigation measures and recovery plans.
  • Monitor project performance against approved schedules and generate weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Conduct delay analysis and assist in the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Prepare resource histograms, cash flow forecasts, and productivity analysis reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation and version control of planning records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
  • Mandatory proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle stages, construction sequencing, and scheduling techniques.
  • Experience in preparing EOT claims, delay analysis reports, and recovery programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience working on medium to large-scale construction projects.
  • Familiarity with UAE/GCC construction standards and contractual requirements.
  • Knowledge of cost control and earned value management (EVM) principles.
