Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer specializing in Fabrication & Construction to join our dynamic project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for complex fabrication and construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project lifecycle, critical path methodology, and earned value management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer specializing in Fabrication & Construction to join our dynamic project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for complex fabrication and construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project lifecycle, critical path methodology, and earned value management, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules (EPC, Fabrication, Construction) using industry-standard planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Integrate detailed fabrication schedules with overall construction schedules, ensuring seamless execution and identifying potential clashes or bottlenecks.
- Monitor project progress against baseline schedules, identify deviations, and analyze impacts on project timelines and resources.
- Prepare and update detailed progress reports, including S-curves, critical path analysis, and look-ahead schedules for various stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify reported progress and gather actual data for schedule updates and forecasting.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction teams to gather input, validate assumptions, and ensure schedule alignment.
- Identify potential risks, delays, and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies and recovery plans to keep projects on track.
- Perform resource loading and leveling to optimize utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials across project phases.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings, present schedule status, and provide insights to project management and client teams.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with project specifications, company procedures, and relevant industry standards.
- Support change management processes by assessing the impact of scope changes on project schedules and baselines.
