Principal Engineer – Audio Visual Systems (AV)

Job Description

WSP Middle East is seeking a Principal Engineer - Creative Audio Visual (AV) to join our growing Building Technology Systems team in the UAE.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced AV professional to lead the design and delivery of innovative audiovisual and integrated technology solutions across some of the Middle East's most prestigious projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help shape immersive environments, cultural destinations, smart buildings, mixed-use developments, and next-generation visitor experiences

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of creative and technical AV solutions across major projects.
• Develop immersive audiovisual experiences for museums, visitor centres, themed attractions, cultural venues, and mixed-use developments.
• Design and integrate projection mapping, interactive displays, multi-sensory environments, and show control systems.
• Deliver AV systems integrated with ICT, smart building technologies, lighting controls, and BMS platforms.
• Design active network infrastructure, wireless systems, structured cabling, and unified communications solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance across project teams.
• Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Support business growth by contributing technical expertise to bids, proposals, and client presentations.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in AV, ICT, and technology systems design on large-scale building or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of Creative AV solutions for museums, cultural destinations, immersive experiences, visitor centres, themed entertainment, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination, manage stakeholder engagement, and provide technical leadership across complex projects.
