Role Overview
The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial activities across assigned projects, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective financial control. The role also includes supervising accounting processes, supporting audits, and contributing to overall financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate bank and account reconciliations, including monthly closing of books
- Oversee service provider payments and maintain adherence to agreed payment timelines
- Manage and support project audits and VAT reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations
- Review financial data, identify risks, and support budgeting and fund management activities
- Prepare and submit financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Supervise, guide, and support team members to ensure performance standards are met
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated capability to work independently and take ownership
- Prior experience in team support or supervision is preferred
