Project Engineer

Job Objectives:

A Projects Engineer is the primary technical point of the site office from DESIGN TO HANDOVER to handle day-to-day link between the Projects Manager (PM) and the Projects Supervisor (PS). The project engineer will lead the projects from planning to physical completion. You should be technically sound in the refrigeration or MEP industry; you will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of Refrigeration/MEP construction projects by providing technical expertise, coordinating engineering activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with the project manager, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate project delivery within established timelines and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Reviews and develops the Project Plan (PP) together with the Project Manager (PM), Projects Supervisor (PS), Project Coordinator (PC) and Project Planning Engineer (PPE) based on agreedoverall planning.
• Develops the teams on site in line with the real site requirements/ PP.
• Strong technical knowledge about the (refrigeration) works to be done.
• Attends site coordination meeting or technical meetings.
• Creates a bi-weekly report.
• Coordinates with client and resolves minor issues.
• Reports back to PM for any major issues and discusses with him the solution.
• Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, including interpreting engineering drawings, resolving design issues, and recommending innovative solutions to construction challenges.
• Engineering Coordination: Coordinate engineering activities, including site surveys, inspections,and testing, to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
• Design Review: Review construction plans, specifications, and drawings to identify discrepancies,conflicts, or potential issues, and collaborate with the project manager to resolve them effectively.
• Material Procurement: Assist in the procurement of project materials and equipment, ensuring they meet project specifications, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to monitor construction activities, identify defects or deficiencies, and ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Construction Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of engineering activities, including drawings, reports, and correspondence, to facilitate project tracking, reporting, and compliance.
• Schedule Management: Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking progress,and identifying critical milestones to ensure timely project completion.
• Cost Control: Support cost estimation and budgeting efforts by providing engineering input, tracking expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or value engineering.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and practices, conducting risk assessments, implementing safety measures, and promoting a culture of safety among project teams.
• Client Communication: Attends site coordination meeting or technical meetings with consultant/client, providing updates on engineering activities, addressing technical inquiries, and resolving issues as needed.
  
  
  

Must have Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in big refrigeration or MEP projects or a similar role within this industry construction projects.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good Knowledge of Refrigeration/MEP industry regulations, codes, and standards.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 8 years
