Job Description

Job Summary

The Project Surveyor (PS) will form part of the Construction Supervision Consultant team on a major building project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supporting the Senior Project Surveyor (SPS), who reports to the Commercial & Contracts Lead.

The PS will assist in managing post-contract commercial activities, ensuring that interim payments, variations, and claims are reviewed in accordance with the Contract, while safeguarding the Employer’s financial and contractual interests.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review and verify the Contractor’s Interim Payment Applications, including measurement and validation of executed works.
  • Assist in the assessment of variations, including preparation and review of rate build-ups
  • Maintain and update commercial logs, including variations and claims registers.
  • Support the review of the Contractor’s claims and assist in preparing commercial evaluations and recommendations.
  • Monitor and track approved, pending, and potential variations.
  • Assist in cost reporting, forecasting the final contract value, and identifying potential budget exposure.
  • Support final account reconciliation and commercial close-out of the project.
  • Coordinate with planning and technical teams to ensure commercial assessments are aligned with actual site progress.

Specific Skills Required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Solid understanding of post-contract administration.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts (particularly Red Book).
  • Knowledge of building measurement principles and BOQ-based contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (particularly Excel) and cost management systems.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary supervision team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in QS, Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in post-contract quantity surveying.
  • Experience on building projects is essential.
  • Ability to travel daily to site within Abu Dhabi.
