Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous lessons in both Psychology and Sociology following the British National Curriculum frameworks (GCSE & A-Level).
- Foster Critical Thinking: Encourage deep analysis, evaluation, and research skills, helping students master complex social and psychological theories.
- Support Student Progression: Adapt teaching methods to inspire students across co-educational junior classes and gender-segregated senior classes.
- Assess and Monitor: Set regular formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress against UK curriculum standards.
- Exam Preparation: Prepare senior students thoroughly for external GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level examinations.
- Collaborate: Work collaboratively within the department to share resources, develop cross-curricular links, and promote Social Sciences within the school community.
To meet UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) approval guidelines, candidates must possess one of the following qualification pathways:
- Option 1: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Education specialising in Psychology or Sociology with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Option 2: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in any subject PLUS an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE/PGDE specialising in Psychology or Sociology with QTS or equivalent.
- Option 3: An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related Social Science discipline with QTS or equivalent.
- Experience Level: Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome.
- Subject Versatility: Confident and qualified to teach both Psychology and Sociology up to A-Level.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the British National Curriculum (GCSE/A-Level exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, or Cambridge).
