Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and highly organized Purchasing Manager to join our team at SO/ Uptown Dubai.

The successful candidate will oversee all purchasing and procurement activities, ensuring timely sourcing of quality goods and services while maintaining cost efficiency, compliance, and brand standards. As a key member of the pre-opening team, the Purchasing Manager will support procurement planning, supplier management, budget control, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement

• Manage all purchasing activities in line with company standards, policies, and approved budgets.
• Source and negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Oversee purchase requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, and timely deliveries.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service standards.
• Coordinate FF&E, OS&E, and operational purchasing requirements within approved budgets.
• Maintain procurement trackers, monitor critical deliveries, and ensure readiness for opening.
• Identify procurement risks and implement contingency plans.
  
  

Supplier & Contract Management

• Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
• Maintain supplier contracts, records, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure supplier due diligence, including trade licenses, VAT documentation, and banking verification.
• Promote competitive local sourcing and responsible procurement practices.
  
  

Cost Control & Inventory

• Monitor purchasing expenditures and commitments against approved budgets.
• Prepare procurement forecasts, cost comparisons, and expenditure reports.
• Coordinate with Receiving, Stores, and operational departments to ensure quality, availability, and inventory efficiency.
• Resolve delivery discrepancies, outstanding orders, and supplier-related issues.
  
  

Systems, Compliance & Reporting

• Implement and manage FutureLog purchasing workflows, supplier records, and approval processes.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, company procurement policies, authorization limits, and audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing documentation and complete audit trails.
• Provide regular procurement and budget reports to the Director of Finance.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate invoice reconciliation with Finance.
  
  

Sustainability

• Promote ethical sourcing, sustainable products, and environmentally responsible suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve procurement efficiency.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and cost-control skills.
• Knowledge of FutureLog or similar procurement systems.
• Familiarity with UAE regulations and procurement standards.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• CIPS or equivalent certification is an advantage.
