Svitzer AMEA is looking for a Regional Business Development Manager to support and accelerate our growth journey across one of our most dynamic and complex regions.

In AMEA, growth is rarely linear. Markets are diverse, regulatory environments vary, and opportunities often need to be shaped long before a formal tender exists. This role is for a commercially driven professional who thrives in that reality - someone who can connect strategy with execution and help turn ambition into tangible results.

Working closely with the Regional Chief Commercial Officer and wider regional teams, you will play a key role in developing and advancing our commercial pipeline, shaping opportunities from early market engagement through to disciplined commercial execution, and delivering successful outcomes across tenders, partnerships, and growth initiatives.

What you will do

As Regional Business Development Manager, you will support and drive Svitzer’s commercial agenda across AMEA, with a strong focus on pipeline development, opportunity shaping, and execution. Your key responsibilities will include:

Driving pipeline and opportunity development

  • Build and maintain a strong, forward-looking commercial pipeline aligned with the AMEA growth strategy

  • Identify and develop new market opportunities through data-driven insights and market intelligence

  • Shape and mature opportunities from early market engagement, often ahead of formal tenders, positioning Svitzer for success

  • Support prioritisation of opportunities based on value, risk, and strategic fit

Tendering and commercial execution

  • Lead and support tender processes end-to-end, from early positioning to submission and negotiation

  • Prepare high-quality proposals, business cases, and commercial materials

  • Develop and analyse financial models to support decision-making and investment cases

  • Ensure disciplined commercial governance, pricing, contractual risk assessment and compliance across opportunities, working closely with the Legal team where appropriate.

Customer and stakeholder engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders across the region

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges to develop the right commercial solutions

  • Support development of strategic customer plans and long-term partnerships

  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Technical, Legal and other functional experts to develop robust commercial solutions and execute growth opportunities

  • Align internal stakeholders across countries, region, and headquarters to drive timely decision-making and successful commercial execution

  • Lead through influence rather than formal authority, mobilising cross-functional teams and stakeholders across countries, functions and leadership levels to deliver commercial outcomes.

Supporting growth initiatives

  • Contribute to inorganic growth initiatives, including partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A activities

  • Support the development of business cases and investment proposals for new opportunities

  • Provide market insights, competitor intelligence, and strategic input to strengthen commercial decisions

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a commercially sharp and proactive professional who is comfortable working across both strategy and execution in a complex, international environment.

You likely bring:

  • Experience in a commercial, business development, or tendering role, ideally within maritime, infrastructure, or other asset-heavy industries

  • A track record of contributing to growth through both opportunity development and execution

  • Strong commercial, financial, and legal acumen, including experience developing business cases and financial modelling

  • Demonstrated ability to balance commercial opportunity, contractual risk and long-term strategic value when making recommendations

  • Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities

  • The ability to structure work, manage multiple priorities, and drive progress
