We are seeking a Runner to support the service team by delivering food promptly and accurately from the kitchen to the guests. The role ensures smooth coordination between the kitchen and floor teams while maintaining Le Relais de l’Entrecôte’s service, presentation, hygiene and hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver dishes from the kitchen to the correct tables quickly and safely.
• Verify table numbers, order details and special requests before serving.
• Ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s presentation and quality standards.
• Announce and serve dishes professionally according to service procedures.
• Coordinate closely with waiters, supervisors and the kitchen team.
• Monitor the pass and ensure food is collected promptly to maintain the correct temperature.
• Assist waiters with table setup, clearing, resetting and general service duties.
• Refill bread, water and other table items when required.
• Support the restaurant’s two-service steak-frites concept by ensuring the second serving is delivered at the correct time and temperature.
• Inform the waiter or supervisor immediately about delays, incorrect dishes or guest concerns.
• Keep the service stations, trays and equipment clean, organised and fully stocked.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
• Handle plates, trays and restaurant equipment carefully to minimise breakage.
• Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards throughout the shift.
• Communicate politely and professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Support other sections during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Follow all restaurant policies, procedures and management instructions.
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Food Runner, Busser or in a similar restaurant role is preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume or fine-dining restaurant is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices.
• Positive attitude and guest-focused approach.
• Ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry multiple plates or trays safely.
• Flexible availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
