Job Brief:

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of a growing mineral water production business. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, reconciliations, compliance, and supporting management with accurate financial information for business decision-making.

This role requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable working in a startup environment and establishing accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems from the ground up. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working with a well-established mineral water brand and possess a strong understanding of accounting and financial operations within a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank transactions.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and supporting schedules.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Monitor accounts receivable, customer outstanding balances, collections, and aging reports.
• Manage accounts payable activities and ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.
• Monitor cash flow and support effective working capital management.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections and conduct variance analysis against actual performance.
• Monitor manufacturing and operational costs and provide financial analysis to support cost optimization and profitability.
• Support product costing, inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and cost analysis related to mineral water production operations.
• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for improved cost control and financial efficiency.
• Establish and maintain effective accounting procedures, financial controls, reporting structures, and documentation suitable for a growing startup environment.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, Corporate Tax, and other applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare VAT and other relevant tax-related documentation and coordinate timely submissions where required.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
• Support annual audits and provide the required financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Assist management with financial analysis, business planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.
• Work closely with operations, manufacturing, procurement, sales, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost management.
• Support the implementation and improvement of ERP, accounting, and financial reporting systems as the business grows.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all financial and business information.
• Take ownership of finance and accounting activities during the initial business setup phase and support the development of the finance function as the organization scales.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA will be an advantage.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting position.
• Previous experience working with a well-established mineral water brand is mandatory.
• Strong experience in accounting and financial operations within a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory management, product costing, and cost control.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable financial regulations.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closings.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software.
• Experience establishing or improving accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting systems will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function in a startup environment.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on role and managing multiple accounting and financial responsibilities as the business grows.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across different business functions.
