About the Role:
As Spare Parts Specialist for BYD Commercial Vehicles, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end spare parts operations supporting BYD's EV truck, bus, and van lineup across the MEA region. This role sits within the BYD MEA aftersales structure and works closely with the authorised distributor network to ensure parts availability, supply chain efficiency, and distributor compliance with BYD standards. You will play a key role in building a robust parts ecosystem for a fast-scaling EV commercial vehicle portfolio in one of the most demanding operating environments in the world.

About the Role:
As Spare Parts Specialist for BYD Commercial Vehicles, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end spare parts operations supporting BYD's EV truck, bus, and van lineup across the MEA region. This role sits within the BYD MEA aftersales structure and works closely with the authorised distributor network to ensure parts availability, supply chain efficiency, and distributor compliance with BYD standards. You will play a key role in building a robust parts ecosystem for a fast-scaling EV commercial vehicle portfolio in one of the most demanding operating environments in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage spare parts demand planning, stock level monitoring, and replenishment cycles to maintain optimal inventory at the distributor and dealer levels.
- Coordinate with BYD HQ and regional supply chain teams to ensure timely parts availability aligned with vehicle population growth across MEA.
- Support distributor parts managers in executing purchase plans, managing slowmoving stock, and achieving targeted parts fill rates.
- Process and track parts orders, back-orders, and emergency shipments, resolving supply issues in collaboration with logistics and customs teams.
- Maintain accurate parts catalogues, pricing schedules, and supersession data in coordination with BYD technical and commercial teams.
- Monitor distributor compliance with BYD aftersales parts policies, including stocking requirements, storage standards, and reporting obligations.
- Assist in developing and updating the regional spare parts policy, purchase plan annexes, and parts business KPI frameworks.
- Provide parts-related technical support to service advisors and workshop teams, including parts identification for BYD EV platforms.
- Track and report parts sales performance, gross margin contribution, and absorption rate data on a regular basis.
- Provide spare parts management training to the distributors on the BYD related systems to ensure efficiency.
- Execute the annual spare parts purchase plan and coordinate with distributors to align order volumes with workshop demand and vehicle fleet size.
- Maintain the parts inventory management system, ensuring data accuracy for part numbers, descriptions, pricing, and supersessions.
- Coordinate with logistics providers and freight forwarders for inbound shipments, managing documentation, customs clearance, and delivery timelines.
- Conduct regular inventory audits at distributor locations and support corrective action planning for stock discrepancies or obsolescence.
- Prepare and distribute monthly parts performance reports covering fill rate, order fulfilment, backorder ageing, and stock turnover.
- Liaise with the BYD HQ parts team on new model introductions, ensuring pre-launch stocking of critical parts in line with service readiness timelines.
- Support warranty parts return processes, including documentation, inspection, and credit processing in accordance with BYD warranty policy.
- Assist in developing counter staff and parts personnel at distributor locations through product training and operational guidance.
- Monitor market pricing for key parts lines and provide input into BYD MEA parts pricing strategy to maintain competitiveness and margin targets.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive spare parts operations, preferably within a commercial vehicle or OEM aftersales environment.
- Experience with Chinese automotive brands or EV platforms is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in dealer management systems (DMS) and parts inventory tools; SAP or similar ERP experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret parts sales data, inventory metrics, and supply chain KPIs.
- Solid understanding of the GCC automotive market, import regulations, and customs processes.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across distributor, logistics, and OEM stakeholder groups.
- Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualisation tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic or Mandarin language skills are an advantage.
