Accountant – Tax & Accounting

The Role
This is a full-time on-site Accountant role based in Dubai. We are seeking an Accountant to join our growing Tax & Accounting team in Dubai. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in an accounting firm or outsourced accounting environment and is comfortable managing multiple clients simultaneously. Reporting to the Tax & Accounting General Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate monthly accounting, VAT, and corporate tax services to a portfolio of SME clients, while liaising with various stakeholders and the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA). Client Accounting & Reporting: - Manage accounting for a portfolio of clients across different sectors - Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet - Review source documents and ensure accurate bookkeeping in cloud-based systems - Identify anomalies, risks, and areas requiring client clarification - Prepare and present reports internally and to clients where required VAT & Corporate Tax Compliance: - VAT registration, deregistration, and amendment submissions - Preparation and submission of VAT returns in line with UAE VAT law - Corporate Tax registrations and return submissions - Ensure compliance with FTA requirements and filing deadlines - Assist with FTA clarifications, queries, and audits where applicable Month-End & Transaction Processing: - Set up and maintain cloud accounting systems for new clients - Bank and cash reconciliations - Accounts receivable management, including invoicing reviews and debtor tracking - Accounts payable processing and creditor reconciliations - Review purchasing systems and resolve supplier queries Practice & Project Work: - Support onboarding of new accounting clients - Assist with accounting clean-ups and historical catch-up work - Participate in internal projects, process improvements, and system enhancements - Collaborate with account managers and senior team members to improve service delivery

Requirements
Requirements: - Ambitious, confident, and professional individual with strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills - Proven experience in UAE VAT and tax accounting (required) - Experience working in an accounting firm or professional services environment (highly preferred) - Qualified or part-qualified accountant - Strong working knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs - Prior experience working in the UAE is essential Software skills: - Xero accounting software - Zoho Books - Quickbooks Personal Attributes: - Highly organized and able to manage competing deadlines - Confident communicator with a client-service mindset - Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing practice environment - Proactive, accountable, and willing to take ownership of client work
