Admissions Executive - UAEN

The Admission Executive interviews patients upon admission for records required such as personal information, secures signatures, checking on insurance eligibility and approval, prepares all the required documents and supplies patient data to appropriate hospital departments. An admission executive ensures every admitting patient to have insurance/ financial coverage before admission.
3.1 Admits patients by receiving booking forms/ OT lists; confirming admitting privileges of physicians; interviewing
patients; entering patient information to pre-admissions database.
3.2 Liaise with insurance department to validate the insurance coverage and/or payment/ copayment for all
scheduled patients.
3.3 Liaise with insurance department by sending claim form for emergency admitted cases upon admission in case
of insurance network or non-network,
3.4 Confirm co-payments and patient’s acceptance of liability for excesses/ insurance shortfalls.
3.5 Liaise with non-insured emergency admitted cases for the payments/ signing undertaking letter.
3.6 Communicate any queries or authorization from non-contracted insurances to RCM.
3.7 To maintain patient trackers for all in house patient to update management regarding the financial status.
3.8 Pre-register all patients on Meditech.
3.9 Liaise with medical records department and/or bed manager to send midnight bed view report (patient census
report) for occupancy purpose.
3.10 To make sure about the financial coverage and co-payment before discharge to prevent financial loss.
3.11 Confirm patient demographics on Meditech on arrival of patient to admissions department.
3.12 Follow business process requirements with regard to insurance form completion
3.13 Collect payment of fees, insurance excess or co-payments at point of admission and provide invoice and receipt
to patient.
3.14 Be competent with entry of payments & Cash Drawer routine in Meditech & balance all payments at end of
shift.
3.15 Liaise with bed manager and/or nurse managers to assign ward or room allocation, and reallocation of beds.
3.16 Escort patient or arrange escort to assigned room or ward.
3.17 Comply with departmental and hospital policies and guidelines.
3.18 Participate in meetings as and when required and contribute to the on-going development of the department
and hospital.
3.19 Create an environment that encourages teamwork, positive attitudes, and high morale.
3.20 Participate in other duties that may be assigned due to developing departmental requirements.
3.21 Participate in shift roster to always provide the required cover in admissions department.
3.22 Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital
management to comply those requirements.
3.23 Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
3.24 Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
3.25 Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk
assessments, incident reports
3.26 Comply with waste management procedures and policies
3.27 Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs
3.28 Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
4.1 Diploma or Degree holder with MS Office knowledge and typing skills.
4.2 Good command of oral and written English language, Arabic is desirable not mandatory.
4.3 Prior working in Admission Office or Patient Service Area.
4.4 Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare industry.
