Airworthiness Engineer

Synopsis

The Airworthiness Engineer (AE) is responsible for compiling the documentations required for the issuance/amendments of Certificate of Registration (CoR), Certificate of Airworthiness (CoA), Noise Certificate, Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) and Radio Station license and renewals for the entire Etihad fleet as required by the CAR M regulations in force at the time. Ensures effective communication with the Managers Fleet Airworthiness (MFA) to ensure timely ARC renewals are carried out..

Accountabilities

• Coordinating with Legal, Aircraft Programs and Finance Departments for the preparation of applications for the CoR, CoA, Noise Certificate, ARC and Radio Station License during aircraft induction and certificate expiry.
• Maintains aircraft ARC renewal history and tracking of documents through a computerized system and have quick access to records inspection by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
• Coordinates documentation and communication with GCAA during Airworthiness Review Certificate renewals and recommendations on behalf of the SMFA and follow up.
• Develops and controls the checklists required for the ARC renewals as required.
• Reviews reports related to the Airworthiness Review Certificate inspections and informing SMFA of adverse trends or areas requiring urgent attention and improvement as required.
• Evaluates, coordinates and carry-out projects that are deemed necessary by the SMFA to enhance the Airworthiness functions of the departments.
• Maintains and updates data base of the aircraft certificates issued by the GCAA and Telecommunication and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
• Familiar with and adheres to the procedures stipulated in the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM) and actively participates in the workplace safety.
• Encourages colleagues and be actively involved in promotion of a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or safety risks.
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• 2 years job-related experience or a 3-year job-related experience in the field of Technical Commercial Aviation or Airline Engineering is generally preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance and continued airworthiness processes—including engineering and technical services — along with a strong understanding of applicable aviation regulations and compliance requirements.
