Job Description

The Architect is a professional within an architectural design team, contributing to the design, planning, and delivery of innovative architectural projects across various sectors. With minimal supervision from a Senior Architect or designated senior team members, this role involves managing specific project elements and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that design solutions are functional, sustainable, code compliant, aesthetically acceptable, aligned with client objectives and best practice guides. The Architect is engaged throughout all phases of project development, from concept design to construction documentation, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet both regulatory standards and client expectations.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide architectural design and BIM modelling efforts, ensuring alignment with the design brief, codes, and multidisciplinary coordination requirements.
  • Proactively provide creative design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
  • Manage and coordinate project phases, including feasibility studies, design development, construction documentation, and delivery, under the guidance of senior architects or associates.
  • Collaborate with building engineering specialists, infrastructure and urban planning teams to develop integrated design solutions.
  • Assist in developing design concepts, schematic drawings, and detailed drawings using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino and SketchUp when applicable.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of construction documentation and detailed technical drawings.
  • Apply innovative thinking to assigned tasks, supported by research and documentation.
  • Follow standardised procedures and workflows to meet project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
  • Proactively check and coordinate project documents as Design Originator, including drawings, reports, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations, interdisciplinary needs, brief and industry standards.
  • Support the resolution of design and BIM coordination issues in collaboration with the project team.
  • Prepare and compile design presentations, reports, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and working drawings.
  • Contribute to responses for third-party review comments, tender queries, and contractor RFIs.
  • Applies foundational architectural knowledge to perform design and construction tasks under supervision, ensuring compliance with codes and project specifications.
  • Completes moderately complex assignments, resolving routine issues independently and escalating more complex challenges when needed on time.
  • Collaborates effectively within the team, sharing information and supporting project deliverables.
  • Demonstrates design & technical rigour through self-checks, a commitment to learning, and a proactive approach to process improvement and new responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Architecture or Master in Architecture, or equivalent.
  • 4-5 years duration
  • RIBA Part 2 equivalent.
