Job description:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile culinary professional with a strong background in international cuisine to join our team. This role involves preparing a wide range of banquet dishes and concession menu items ordered through the point-of-sale system. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diverse global cooking styles and be confident performing kitchen duties such as cooking, baking, and butchering.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in preparing dishes from various international cuisines, including but not limited to:
- Mediterranean (e.g., Lebanese, Greek, Turkish)
- Western/Continental (e.g., French, Italian, American)
- Latin American (e.g., Mexican, Peruvian, Brazilian)
- Fusion cuisine combining global flavors and modern techniques
This role is on a freelancer agreement, and it requires the candidate to have their own visa / sponsorship. A detailed job description can be found below.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare hot and cold food to order using standardized recipes, including banquet items for large groups.
- Cook multiple orders simultaneously and distribute food to concession attendants for guest service.
- Set up workstations before service based on par levels and assist with opening and closing inventory counts.
- Request timely inventory refills and practice FIFO (First In, First Out) for proper stock rotation.
- Adhere to Dubai Municipality food safety regulations and ensure proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Operate kitchen equipment (grill, fryer, knives, etc.) safely and efficiently while minimizing waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation during and after shifts.
- Provide high-quality service to guests and colleagues and assist in supervising junior kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Graduate of a Culinary school.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a catering operation, or central production kitchen or similar combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in the UAE, preferably in the event industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in events.
- Fluent in English.
