Your mission

As Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (OHL) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising and monitoring the civil works for overhead line (OHL) projects. You will ensure compliance with contract documents, method statements, safety regulations, and approved drawings while supporting inspections, technical coordination, and final handover of works.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in the daily supervision of OHL civil works.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify contractor performance.
• Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction-related documents.
• Monitor contractor works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, layouts, and method statements.
• Witness site activities, inspections, and testing as per project requirements.
• Support the Resident Engineer in carrying out final inspections for completion certification and handover.
• Ensure proper implementation of health and safety measures on site.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in civil engineering projects in the UAE, including OHL-related works.

• Strong technical knowledge of civil works for overhead line projects.
• Skilled in site supervision, contractor coordination, and construction monitoring.
• Familiar with utility and authority requirements in the UAE.
  
  

Your Soft Skills

• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Proactive and detail-oriented approach to site issues.
• Ability to work under pressure in multicultural environments.
  
  

Preference

• Prior experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities will be highly preferred.
