Assistant Resident MEP Engineer

Main Purpose Of The Job

The Assistant Resident Engineer will provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to Clients.

Key Responsibilities/duties

• Provide professional support to the resident engineer, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a co-ordinated response to clients;
• Involves delegated trust and authority, together with the use of initiative, at a level commensurate with the status of the post;
• Review and comment on Contractor's designs and material submissions;
• Inspect work in progress for conformance to specifications, approved drawings and methodstatements;
• Review, monitor and report on progress of works;
• Check plant, equipment and materials delivered and verify against approved submissions;
• Check measurement sheets for the work done and check Contractor’s payment certificates;
• Coordinate with the Client and Contractor;
• Liaise with other Authorities;
• Advise on contractual and construction matters;
• Assert with and coordinate forward planning;
• Liaise with all parties for site safety;
• Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals;
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records;
