The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The Department of Government and Society at UAEU invites applications for a faculty position in the fields of Political Science, Comparative Politics, International Political Economy and International Relations at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. A strong and continuous record of research published in peer-reviewed journals, a high h-index and citation index in Scopus and Google Scholar, and fluency in English. The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise master's theses, contribute effectively to the development of the department, and serve the college, university and broader UAE community.

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Political Science (and relevant fields) from an accredited and reputable university granted through a full-time doctoral study. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Academic administrative and professional experience is a plus. Applicants should upload: CV, cover letter and concise statement of motivation of no more than 750 words that specifies research interests. Two samples of written and/or published work, two other samples of research written in English and names of two academic references. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed; however, the appointment is a multi-level process and the candidate needs to pass all levels successfully.

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in Political Science from an accredited and reputable university granted through a full-time doctoral study. Strong and continuous record of publishing research in Scopus-indexed journals and strong citation index in Scopus. Experience in teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses and supervising graduate students’ research and theses. Strong theoretical knowledge and applied skills in teaching and research in the field and excellent command of writing, reading and speaking in the English language (preferably proficient in both Arabic & English) . Expertise in program development, curriculum design and development with high-quality service record on department, college, university and community.
