Role Overview
This is an expression of interest for an Aviation Safety Consultant to join the international office in Dubai. The Aviation Safety Consultant is a key role within the International business to lead the development of safety solutions and Safety Assurance services to our global customers.
The role ensures proposed solutions meet customer needs, comply with the Business Winning and Approvals Process (BWAP), and align with international aviation safety regulations.
The Aviation Safety Consultant leads the technical delivery of assigned contracts, working closely with the project delivery team to ensure that assignments, reports, workshops, and presentations are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, the consultant acts as a trusted advisor, supporting bid teams and providing expert guidance to ensure effective and compliant solutions to projects and contracts.

Role Overview
This is an expression of interest for an Aviation Safety Consultant to join the international office in Dubai. The Aviation Safety Consultant is a key role within the International business to lead the development of safety solutions and Safety Assurance services to our global customers.

Roles And Responsibilities
- Operate independently as a SME and also as part of a team under the guidance and mentoring of Senior Consultants and the NATS UK Safety consultants.
- Manage the safety assurance solution development of medium to large complexity bids (>£1M). Ensure the solutions developed are of a high standard, align with the business strategy and comply with internal governance.
- Develop, implement, and oversee Safety Assurance solutions for global aviation customers, ensuring compliance with ICAO, FAA, EASA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Engage with customer leadership teams, regulators, and operational staff to promote a proactive safety culture and embed international best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global aviation safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Lead the delivery of Safety Assurance activities for assigned contracts to achieve the contractual terms and conditions of the project, within the agreed timescale and budget.
- Lead the development of innovative, competitive and deliverable technical and operational solutions for international opportunities, with a strong focus on shaping compelling customer value propositions.
- Translate customer needs and requirements into clearly defined solutions, ensuring alignment with NATS’ capabilities, commercial strategy, and risk appetite.
- Ensure solutions are compliant with NATS Business Winning and Approvals Process.
- Help develop and sustain stakeholder wide relationships to support business development activities delivering effective solutions for existing and future requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Bidding, and Delivery teams to develop persuasive proposal content; including executive summaries, technical responses, and solution architectures.
- Undertake accountability as Safety Assurance Lead within an assigned bid team.
- Lead Safety Solution development, including identification and management of the appropriate resource, partners or subcontractors through a bid's lifecycle.
- Provide expert support to delivery teams, and where appropriate, lead or contribute directly to solution implementation.
- Act as an ATC/ATM expert to influence decision-making through knowledge sharing with internal/external stakeholders.
- Identify and drive financial and operational efficiencies in the planning and delivery of solutions throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Act as a NATS ambassador, leading stakeholder engagement to create and sustain alliances across teams, regions & customers that support strategic business objectives.
- Provide intelligence and input to the product and services lifecycle, including product development, and enhancement.
- Safety Assurance specialist, with experience in delivering ATM-related assurance solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of Safety Assurance solutions and methodologies in an ATM domain. (Hazard Identification and Analysis, Risk Assessment, Safety Case production etc.)
- Operational experience of working at a major international airport is highly desirable.
- Understanding of global ATM market trends, customer drivers, and emerging technologies including digital towers, UTM, and sustainability initiatives.
- Proven track record in delivering high quality solutions to time, cost, quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience and knowledge of commercial processes is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience in bidding, proposal development, and pricing strategies.
- Clear and persuasive communicator, able to convey complex concepts in a compelling manner across written and verbal channels.
- Culturally aware and sensitive to different business practices, communication styles and customer expectations.
- Able to apply product and service knowledge to develop solutions that meet customers’ needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly self-motivated, organised, and able to lead virtual teams to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Confident chairing and contributing to meetings and guiding cross-functional teams towards shared objectives
- Required to work flexibly across different time zones, with international stakeholders.
- International travel as required.
