Business unit Purpose:
Program NewEra is an ambitious 3year business transformation program taken up by Emirates Flight Catering. Program NewEra consists of numerous projects including Change Management, Business Process re-engineering and Automation.

AVP- IS will lead this program under overall supervision of Program director. The AVP-IS is a critical position within the Program NewEra Organization which caters to the overall project coordination and monitoring of various projects running concurrently or otherwise within NewEra. The key challenge of the job is to support users, consultants and IT staff by providing timely and efficient services in the area of IT Projects Coordination and administration.

The jobholder has the challenging task of ensuring timely, within budget and state of the art automated solutions in EKFC. The responsibility includes providing smooth systems functioning of IT Systems in EKFC. S/he also has to take into account, the latest trends in the technology and advise the executive management in order to extract full benefits from the continuous advances in the industry. The jobholder interacts with the Managers and Heads of the Departments in order to identify their exact requirements. The Job holder shall be required to carry out on demand sizing for H/W, Network, Infrastructure and Data Centre. The Job holder will assist VP-IS in ensuring smooth and timely implementation of Program NewEra.

Job Purpose:
This role will be responsible for successful planning, leading and execution of IT strategy. The job holder will implement EKFC*s IT strategy and will align with business and technology automation opportunities in accordance with best practice

Key Result Areas


Ensure that no intellectual property (IP) reaches unauthorised entities by implementing necessary Data Leakage Prevention (DLP)
Strictly follow, propagate and ensure that corporate IT Security policy is adhered to
Ensure that all external communications are carried out in a such a manner that point to point (from source to destination) data transmission is only carried out
Ensure that all documents, communications, training materials, manuals, user guides, systems specifications, product manuals etc. are maintained in a secured environment and are easily available on demand only to authorised persons
To ensure that only approved authorised persons are able to access the corporate IT systems by developing, deploying and following a state-of-the-art and full proof system authorisation system
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Comply with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls

Leadership - Engaged Workforce

Be the pioneer and lead the ambitious IT program to help EKFC meet its strategic objectives
Collaborate with the Senior Management and provided strategic direction on technology initiatives in line with the core organizational goals
Be responsible and responsive for overall professional growth of the team by setting goals, conducting regular counselling, coaching, identifying the training & development opportunities and to nominate for all such events to achieve a very up-to-date professional workforce
Effectively engage the senior executives, peers, Business Process Owners (BPOs), super users, consultants and other team members in an ongoing manner to ensure that program continues to remain aligned with its objectives
Sustain a high performance culture by ensuring that Organizational and individual objectives are set, cascaded and a focused approach to development and growth is achieved.
Lead, inspire and develop a talented workforce that supports the strategic and future needs of the business and drives for efficiencies and improves effectiveness.

Profit Maximization

Champion the process improvements through quality & user-friendly automation and ensure that the organisation meets its strategic objectives of productivity enhancements
Perform ongoing budget monitoring, project variances to ensure proactive and timely actions are taken to avoid budget overruns
Develop, manage and implement new concepts, state-of-the-art products with innovative methodologies that are aligned to industry standards and practices to achieve a robust new technology solution deployment, bringing the organisation at technology forefront

Business Development

Act as an ambassador of the program *NewEra* and ensure that necessary buy-ins are in place for all Business Transformation initiatives

Operational Excellence

Create structured schedules and project plans based on the project goals, resources needed, potential risks, time to market and budget constraints.
Challenge, enhance and standardize existing processes and practices across all business units to ensure that Program NewEra does not translate the existing work practices thereby restricting the expected benefits
Ensure that the Automation projects (ERP and Mobility) are fully aligned with and are in sync with other major programs, like BPR and Change Management, so that end delivery is converged
Develop, deploy and continuously monitor the Risk and mitigation plan to ensure that risk does not derail the program at any stage
Ensure Project Prioritization and Portfolio Alignment by balancing projects and communicating priorities internally. Outline projects currently underway and those on the backlog and highlight their priority according to the overall business objectives.


Responsible for overall program execution on time and within budget so that projects are delivered on time without excess spent
Proactively work with all entities of the program team to ensure smooth functioning and minimal disruptions
Coordinate with the Core Project Teams regarding content, project schedule and delivery of projects so that projects remain on track and aligned with its objectives
Monitor and report on Program progress and facilitate regular progress reviews with teams and stakeholders in order to assess extent of program progress and inform Project Leadership team on progress, issues and guidance / required approvals
Envision, develop, implement and sustain an organisation wide communication initiative so that all involved are aware of the project status at all times

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Education Qualification

Bachelor*s Degree in Engineering / Technology (Computer science)

MBA - Preferred.

ITIL certification. Prior experience on ERP.


Strong leadership and influencing skills. Should have the ability to work effectively, to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Work Experience:
Minimum 12 years of demonstrated experience in a leadership position with preferably as an IT Head in a large or medium size company. Having gone through at least 3 full life cycle implementation of ERP with all major modules
