BARISTA

Position Summary

The Barista at Salt Caramel is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and beverage experiences for guests in a fast-paced, waterfront café environment. This role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering warm, personalized service. The Barista works closely with the service team to ensure smooth operations and uphold the brand’s standards of hospitality and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment with care and precision.
• Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and appearance of all beverages served.
  
  

Guest Interaction

• Greet guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Take beverage orders accurately and answer questions about the menu.
• Offer recommendations and upsell specialty drinks or seasonal items.
• Handle guest feedback courteously and escalate concerns when necessary.
  
  

Cleanliness Organization

• Maintain cleanliness of the barista station, equipment, and surrounding areas.
• Follow hygiene and food safety protocols in line with UAE regulations.
• Assist in restocking supplies and organizing inventory.
  
  

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with waitstaff and kitchen team to ensure timely service.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Participate in briefings and training sessions as required.
  
  

Cash Handling POS

• Process orders accurately using the POS system.
• Handle cash and card transactions responsibly and follow company procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a barista in a café or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  
  

Physical Requirement

• Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, and transport items up to 25 kg independently.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, tools, and bar equipment.
• Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate exposure to heat, sun, and beachside conditions.
