The BIM Manager - Implementation Specialist is responsible for representing iTech and leading BIM implementation projects at clients' organizations. The role involves developing and enforcing customized BIM standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance with local authority regulations, and fostering a consistent approach across diverse projects. The position requires strong expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM), stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to train and guide project teams effectively.
General Responsibilities
Development and Implementation of BIM Standards and Guidelines
- Develop customized BIM guidelines tailored to organizational needs, enhancing design and construction processes for various project types (residential, commercial, infrastructure).
- Establish and enforce specific Levels of Detail (LOD) and Levels of Information (LOI) for different project phases.
- Ensure compliance with local (e.g., Abu Dhabi building regulations) and international standards like BS EN ISO 19650.
- Define data exchange protocols and interoperability standards across BIM platforms used by internal teams and contractors.
- Create standardized templates for BIM documentation, ensuring consistency in data recording and reporting.
- Guarantee alignment of BIM standards with local regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Implement version control systems for managing updates and changes to BIM documents.
- Develop feedback loops from stakeholders to enhance BIM guidelines based on real-world usage.
- Establish intellectual property management protocols for shared BIM models and ensure data security against unauthorized access.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance BIM proficiency among client and project teams.
- Provide regular updates on the latest BIM technologies and standards to all stakeholders.
- Facilitate seamless integration of BIM standards with clients project management systems for enhanced collaboration.
- Represent iTech in external meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve design and implementation issues.
- Implement BIM processes and tools on large-scale construction projects, including 4D scheduling and 5D cost analysis.
- Lead the creation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project-specific workflows.
- Oversee modeling tasks to ensure adherence to BIM standards and client objectives.
- Support pre-construction services by providing detailed project documentation and performing clash detection.
- Timely delivery of high-quality BIM models and documentation.
- Compliance with project timelines, budgets, and standards.
- Positive feedback from internal teams and external stakeholders on training and support services.
- Successful adoption of BIM standards and practices by client organizations.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BIM implementation, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Tekla, MicroStation, and other industry-standard software.
- Certified Autodesk Professional (ACP) or equivalent BIM certification.
- Strong knowledge of local and international BIM regulations and construction processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- The role involves regular updates to BIM standards to accommodate advancements in technology and regulatory requirements.
