Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Insert Job Title to join our team! In this role you will get to Insert one sentence summary of key job role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop detailed and accurate 3D models of highways, including road alignments, pavements, bridges, signage, and other highway and roads components.
• Use software like Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley Systems (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads).
• Collaborate with design engineers, surveyors, and project managers to integrate various disciplines (structural, electrical, drainage).
• Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between different elements (e.g., utilities vs. road layout).
• Organize and maintain BIM data and ensure it adheres to project standards and protocols.
• Manage version control and updates of the BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Generate drawings, plans, sections, and quantities from BIM models for construction and tendering.
• Ensure the BIM models comply with technical standards, client requirements, and local highway codes.
• Help in as-built modeling and updating highway models post-construction for maintenance and future upgrades.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering. (Highways design) (or equivalent work experience).
• +5 years related work experience in Highways design/modeling.
• Strong experience with AUTODESK CIVIL 3D for road design, alignments, corridors, and grading.
• Knowledge of Bently Open Roads, Microstation or In Roads is a plus.
• Knowledge of local and international highway design codes, specifications, and best practices.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of how to integrate survey data and GIS information into BIM workflows.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary coordination and resolving clashes between different infrastructure systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Use of specialized tools like Dynamo (for Revit automation), Civil 3D Extensions, or BIM 360 for cloud collaboration (ACC).
• Profeciency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Ability to generate accurate quantities from models and support cost planning.
• Enthusiasm for keeping up-to-date with the latest BIM technologies and highway design trends.
• Ability to lead or facilitate BIM coordination meetings and workflows across all design disciplines.
