BIM/CAD Modelling Technician

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM/CAD Modelling Technician to join our team! In this role, you will get to work on cutting-edge infrastructure projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies. Become familiar with various standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Understand how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
• Ability to create precise and accurate drawings, ensuring all measurements, annotations, and specifications are correct
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment, as CAD drafting often involves coordination with other professionals
• Familiarity with general computer operations, file management, and other software tools like Microsoft Office or project management platforms
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively, especially when working on multiple projects
• Capability to troubleshoot design issues and propose solutions to meet project requirements
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Diploma in Civil Engineering/drafting is mandatory.
• Minimum five years demonstrable experience in drafting and CAD experience on infrastructure projects.
• Some experience in BIM processes and software.
• Fluent in English both written and spoken with good capability in oral and written communication skills.
  
  
  

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

• Prepare Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Center (ITC) circulation plans and drawings according to ITC standards to secure approvals.
