We are seeking a reliable and mechanically skilled Boat Rigger to join our marine operations team. The Boat Rigger is responsible for preparing new and used boats for delivery by installing motors, rigging controls, wiring electronics, and ensuring all systems are properly configured and tested. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and has a passion for boats and marine systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install outboard and inboard engines, steering systems, controls, and related components.
  • Set up and test electronic systems, including GPS, sonar, lighting, and radios.
  • Install and configure accessories such as trolling motors, trim tabs, jack plates, power poles, and other marine hardware.
  • Connect fuel systems, batteries, pumps, and wiring harnesses.
  • Perform water tests and operational checks to ensure proper rigging and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues before delivery to customers.
  • Ensure all rigging work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized rigging workspaces and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Assist with the delivery and staging of boats, trailers, and parts.
  • Keep detailed records of work performed using service or rigging forms.


Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in boat rigging, marine service, or a related technical role.
  • Familiarity with marine engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, and electronics installation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and rigging instructions.
  • Certification from engine or electronics manufacturers (Yamaha, Mercury, Garmin, etc.) is a plus.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Valid drivers license; boating license or experience operating boats is a plus.
