Broiler Farm Supervisor

Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a well-reputed Food Manufacturing Company in the UAE. Our client is looking for a Broiler Lead Man who will be responsible for overseeing and directing the daily activities of the shed workers ("shed boys") to ensure optimal farm operations. This role involves ensuring the health, feed, water availability, and proper environmental conditions for the birds, as well as assisting with medication, vaccinations, and maintaining biosecurity and safety standards.

Daily Operations Supervision:

• Lead and monitor shed workers for all daily activities, ensuring the correct execution of tasks across all poultry houses.
  
  

Feed, Water, and Environmental Management:

• Ensure the proper availability of feed and water for the birds, and oversee the application of correct lighting, temperature, and climate control systems.
  
  

Health Monitoring & Reporting:

• Monitor the health status and conditions of the birds daily, reporting any issues or irregularities directly to the Broiler Farm Team Leader.
  
  

Emergency Response:

• Take immediate action during emergencies to prevent any losses and ensure the safety and well-being of the birds.
  
  

Vaccinations and Medications:

• Assist in the preparation and execution of vaccination, medication, and disinfection procedures as per farm schedules, ensuring houses are properly prepared.
  
  

Ventilation & Climate Control:

• Ensure that ventilation, temperature, and lighting programs are effectively applied in all broiler houses to provide optimum rearing conditions for the birds.
  
  

Cleaning and Disinfection:

• Monitor cleaning and disinfection procedures, ensuring biosecurity and hygiene standards are met.
  
  

Production Needs & Equipment Monitoring:

• Collaborate with the Broiler Farm Team Leader to assess production needs and evaluate equipment conditions, issuing work permits for repairs and maintenance as needed.
  
  

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow and enforce biosecurity, food safety, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) protocols. Conduct toolbox talks (TBT) related to safety and maintain adequate stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  
  

Team Leadership:

• Manage and oversee the shed workers, ensuring efficient operation, proper training, and adherence to farm policies and procedures.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 10th grade or Secondary School education; higher education is preferable.
• Ability to read and write in English with good communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge is an advantage.
• At least 4-5 years of experience in a supervisory role at a broiler farm (e.g., as a farm headman or similar position).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Knowledge of poultry farming operations, including feeding, medication, and environmental control.
• Familiarity with biosecurity, food safety, and HSE regulations.
• Ability to handle emergencies and make prompt decisions to prevent losses.
