Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Buyer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices. The Buyer plays a crucial role in supporting our production and maintenance operations by maintaining optimal inventory levels and strong supplier relationships.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Buyer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices. The Buyer plays a crucial role in supporting our production and maintenance operations by maintaining optimal inventory levels and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, product quality, and delivery performance.
- Lead supplier development and evaluation initiatives.
- Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement and inventory records.
- Play a key role in procuring raw materials such as steel tubes/bars, elastomers, and chemicals.
- Support the maintenance department by arranging services and sourcing parts for ongoing plant operations.
- Procure consumables and stationery items as needed.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with vendors to drive cost savings.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Track and expedite purchase orders, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any delays or shortages.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and address any performance-related issues.
- Analyze market trends to anticipate material needs and evaluate potential cost impacts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand material and service requirements.
- Assist with vendor audits, contract reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Identify and develop new vendors to expand sourcing options.
- Analyze MRP messages and take appropriate procurement actions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Planning, Production, Inventory, Logistics, QA/QC, and Engineering to support daily manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams for contracts, terms, and conditions.
- Strong background in purchasing functions.
- Proficient in sourcing metal tubes and bars for oil and gas equipment manufacturing.
- Familiarity with local and international customs regulations.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of local and global market dynamics.
- Experience working with suppliers across different time zones.
- Ability to interpret purchasing-related documentation.
- Competence in presenting and explaining technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to organize, store, and retrieve information in line with basic QMS (Quality Management System) standards.
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in related studies.
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a similar buying and/or procurement position in the Middle East region.
- Supply Chain certifications.
- Procurement, purchasing, inventory, logistics experience in Manufacturing.
- Experience working in oil and gas manufacturing environments highly preferred.
- JD Edwards ERP knowledge.
