About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Engineering department in Dubai, the Carpenter is responsible for cutting, fabricating, and installing wooden and other structures according to specifications. Carpenter reports to the Duty Supervisor.

About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Engineering department in Dubai, the Carpenter is responsible for cutting, fabricating, and installing wooden and other structures according to specifications. Carpenter reports to the Duty Supervisor.
As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project requirements; take measurements and calculate material needs.
- Cut, shape, and assemble wood, fiberglass, and other materials to construct items such as doors, windows, stairs, furniture, and structural frameworks.
- Install flooring, roofing, drywalls, and fixtures while ensuring precision, alignment, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and maintenance of facilities, guest rooms, and public areas following Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Maintain tools and equipment, order and replace materials or spares as needed, and keep accurate records, reports, and service logs.
- Respond to guest feedback, report safety hazards or maintenance issues, and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, or industrial carpentry projects with strong hands-on skills in working with carpentry materials.
- In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, installation, and construction methods, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Skilled in using electrical and manual tools such as saws, nail guns, sanders, levels, chisels, squares, and hammers.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and commitment to following all safety guidelines at all times.
- Good command of English, solid math skills for measurements and angles, and excellent attention to detail with strong manual dexterity.
- Physically fit with good endurance, holding a high school diploma and completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program.
