JOB PURPOSE:

Oversee the daily operations of ADNOC Drilling and execute the organization's strategies and initiatives while

ensuring seamless synergy across all functional processes and fostering collaboration and integration throughout

ADNOC Drilling.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to Operations-Land, Operations-Offshore, Oilfield Services, and Technical Functions, ensuring alignment with ADNOC Drilling’s overall vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Lead and manage all operational activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution of drilling and related operations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and optimize operational processes.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic vision and long-term goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Perform cross-functional collaboration with other Senior executives (including the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer) to ensure alignment across various departments and facilitate effective communication.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks that could impact the Company's performance or reputation.
  • Manage organizational changes, including expansion, restructuring, or process reengineering.
  • Ensure that the Company has the right people in the right roles through involvement in talent acquisition and development and promote a positive work culture.
  • Interact with various stakeholders, including investors, clients, and board members, provide updates on operational performance, and address concerns.
  • Implement advanced technical solutions to address complex challenges related to drilling operations, safety, and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the development and adoption of new technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.

Develop practical solutions that align with the company's business objectives and financial targets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving organizational goals.
  • Monitor and assess market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities for the Company.
  • Enhance operational agility to adapt to changing market dynamics and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Drive collaboration and integration across various departments and functions to achieve seamless coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to unlock value throughout the asset life cycle, maximizing returns on investments.
  • Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.

Generic Accountabilities

Business Strategy

  • Participate and contribute to the development and refinement of the vision and long term strategy for the Company, and contribute to the overall process of corporate governance, management and corporate decision making to ensure the organization maximizes returns to its shareholders.
  • Lead the development and ensure implementation of the Unit’s Business Strategy, ensuring that Company’s overall business goals are fully supported by the Unit.
  • Ensure the Company’s long and short term plans are effectively converted into the Unit’s acceptable performance objectives in line with established service levels.

Leadership

  • Provide effective and visible leadership and integrated strategic direction to the Unit in the areas of Corporate Governance, Operations, People, Values, HSE, Integrity and Reliability in order to deliver Company’s strategic objectives.

Budgets and Operational Plans

  • Guide the development and monitoring of Unit’s business plans and optimal annual budget, in line with the company objectives and work programs to support alignment and arbitration while ensuring quality and reality checks are in place.
  • Control expenditure against approved Unit budget on a regular basis and investigate & reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Performance Management

  • Agree with the senior management on the Annual Performance Management Contract in line with Company’s long term plans to reinforce an organization-wide drive for performance.
  • Ensure proper cascading and implementation of the Unit’s Performance objectives into the Divisions and implement monitoring mechanisms to assess progress and promote a performance driven culture.

Organisation Structure and People Development

  • Recommend and establish appropriate organisation structure for the Unit to fully utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into on-going work practices to meet business objectives.
  • Lead the development of knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Unit to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets and support the establishment of Development Plans, Succession Planning and Talent pipeline.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote the development of a corporate culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve Unit’s operations and services.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Guide and ensure the development and implementation of appropriate Unit policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls to support execution of the Company work programmes, in line with ADNOC Corporate, UAE Local & Federal laws and International standards.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.

Risk Management

  • Participate and proactively contribute to the designing, development and establishment of Company’s integrated Risk Management System while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and recommend planning, management and control measures to mitigate the identified risks within the Unit.
  • Oversee compliance of Risk Management Guidelines that are relevant to the Unit and ensure that corporate business ethics and Company’s Code of Conduct are communicated to employees within the Unit and ensure compliance of the Corporate Policies and guidelines.

Management Reports

  • Ensure that all Unit progress reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely corporate reports and necessary information to Company Management, Board of Directors, Board Advisory Committee and other shareholder representatives to effectively manage the business.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal

  • Has daily contact with Chief Executive Officer and frequent contacts with Functional Senior Vice Presidents.

External

  • Has regular contact with Group Companies’ Chief Operating Officers.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

  • 12 years experience in a senior leadership role within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on drilling operations.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to implement innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Track record of developing and executing strategies that align with business objectives and drive company growth.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Must be computer literate.
