Civil Designer

Job Title: Civil Designer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract Type: 6-month Contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support onshore projects across the full lifecycle - from concept and FEED to EPC/EPIC stages. You will be responsible for 3D modeling, drawing extraction, clash detection, and MTO preparation for a variety of civil and structural elements. This includes working with process structures, pipe racks, underground networks, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D modeling and detailing of:

a. Structural elements: pipe racks, process structures, platforms, shelters

b. Foundations: equipment, piled, compressor, rotating machinery

c. Underground systems: structures, utility networks, surrounding area development

d. Buildings: both technical and non-technical (blast and non-blast)

• Drawing extraction using:

a. S3D Draft

b. PDMS Draft

c. AVEVA E3D Draft

• Software proficiency in:

a. AVEVA E3D / PDMS

b. SP3D

c. SmartSketch

d. AutoCAD

e. Tekla / BOCAD (preferred)

• Conduct 3D model reviews for clash detection and resolution
• Prepare and finalize Material Take Offs (MTOs) and Bill of Quantities (BOQs)
• Review vendor drawings for compliance and integration
• Collaborate closely with multi-discipline teams, project management, and global workshare offices
• Coordinate between design disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs
• Contribute to planning, execution, and continuous improvement of drafting practices

Requirements:

• Strong technical aptitude and practical design skills in civil and structural domains
• Hands-on experience in modeling and drafting tools listed above
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Proactive approach to design challenges and flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with international codes and standards applicable to onshore structures
